Kanye West says Ice Spice's team are blocking the release of 'New Body'

The controversial yet beloved producer Kanye West is back in the headlines, but this time, he is calling out Ice Spice and her team for blocking the release of one of his tracks. The female emcee is one of the most sought-after in hip-hop. However, West insisted that her management was causing problems for him.

The Chicago native has revealed that Ice Spice (real name Isis Gaston) laid down a verse for his track ‘New Body’, which has been leaked online with a feature from Nicki Minaj. However, he has now stated that Gaston’s team have been blocking its release.

Taking to social media, in a since-deleted post to his Instagram Story, Ye wrote, “ICE SPICE SENT A VERSE IN FOR NEW BODY NOW HER TEAM IS SAYING WE CAN’T USE IT.” The story was in response to a leak on his side.

One of West’s former team members, YesJulz, recently uploaded a text exchange between herself and Kanye, where they discuss sending the track to Ice Spice and Doja Cat to see “who sounds the best.”

It’s not clear why YesJulz decided to leak the texts, although many have speculated it is due to her awkward exit from Kanye West’s team, for which he may be suing her. Underneath her post, YesJulz wrote, “I am not an influencer. I am a manager, producer, host, A&R, consultant, friend, and most importantly, an honest, loyal, and hard-working single mother.”

The Jesus Is King musician put out a statement last week about the industry figure, reading, “We have decided to no longer have YesJulz involved in the rollout of Vultures. All the activity on her page and with our fans in the past few days has been unauthorized.”

The track ‘New Body’ is reportedly an old track recorded for the shelved Yandhi album that was meant to have a 2019 release. The song initially had Ty Dolla $ign and Minaj on it. However, it appears that West does not intend to have Minaj on the final version.
