Kanye West and Dr Dre's 'Jesus Is King 2' album leaks

In 2019, Kanye West announced that he would follow up his 2018 album, Jesus Is King, with a second collaborative sequel with Dr Dre entitled Jesus is King 2.

Taking to Twitter/X, the rapper wrote, “Ye and Dre, Jesus Is King Part II coming.” In one of his famous LA Sunday services, the emcee elaborated on the project, telling the congregation, “Jesus Is King is my first clean album. I used to spend all my time trying to make my beats be mixed as good as Dr. Dre.”

He followed up stating, “Who knew all I had to do was do an album for God, and then Dr. Dre would start mixing my beats? Spend your time on God, and he’ll handle the rest.”

Fans eagerly awaiting the album never heard much about the body of work until Dr Dre and Kanye released a song for a Beats commercial featuring Sha’Carri Richardson named ‘Glory’ in 2021. Followers were then informed that the song was meant to feature on Jesus Is King 2 but were also told that the collaboration had been shelved.

However, the elusive project was recently leaked by a social media user who shared the full album on a ‘Through The Wire’ Reddit thread. The 15-track album features various hip-hop stars, including Pusha T, Marsha Ambrosius, Eminem, Travis Scott, 2 Chainz, Anderson.Paak, A$AP Ferg, and even Snoop Dogg.

The unreleased body of work shows the original Jesus Is King sonically reimagined by Dr Dre. Jesus Is King 2 sees a new spin put on songs such as ‘”Water’ and ‘God Is’. There are also several new tracks on the project.

As well as some fresh Kanye verses, listeners also hear a version of ‘Hand On’ featuring Travis Scott. Furthermore, Anderson.Paak delivers some refreshing vocals on ‘Closed On Sunday.’ New cuts include, ‘Blood of the Lamb’ with Pusha T and ‘L.A. Monster’ featuring A$AP Ferg.
