Kanye West responds to Drake diss and promises, "you will never recover"

As sure as the tides come and go, Kanye West will delay releasing his new album. But while we ponder why he hasn’t learned to under-promise and over-deliver, some fans speculate there’s another reason for the rescheduling of Donda and that reason is Drake.

There has been a bubbling feud rumbling on between arguably the two most successful rappers of the last decade. Whether it’s because of chart rivalries or love interests (“Kiki, do you love me?”), the two musicians don’t seem close to ending their feud any time soon, with many suggesting Ye is delaying his album so he can release on the same day as Drake’s upcoming LP Certified Lover Boy.

It seems the feud kicked up a notch this weekend as Drake’s appearance on the new Trippie Redd track, ‘Betrayal’ saw the Toronto native dish out a searing bar, seemingly aimed at Ye: “All these fools I’m beefin’ that I barely know/ Forty-five, forty-four (Burned out), let it go/ Ye ain’t changin’ shit for me, it’s set in stone.”

With Certified Lover Boy due out before the end of the summer and Ye seemingly able to release Donda whenever he chooses, many have speculated on a re-run of Kanye’s “Battle of the Titans” with 50 Cent in 2007.

If Drake planned to warn Kanye off of releasing on the same day, then it would appear he has failed. The Chicago-born impresario has responded to the line in Redd’s track and screenshotted a group chat in which he sent a Joker meme and promised to destroy Drake. What’s more, the man he is promising is Pusha T, Drake’s nemesis.

“I live for this. I’ve been fucked with by nerd ass jock n*****s like you my whole life,” Kanye wrote. “You will never recover. I promise you.”

Whether, behind closed doors, the two icons are patting themselves on the back for an impressive promotional run, or they genuinely do have beef. One thing is for sure if Drake can make Ye actually release Donda at all, then he has already won.
