Kanye West reportedly relapses on nitrous oxide: “His memory is so messed up”

Kanye West has reportedly relapsed on laughing gas that’s affecting his memory. The Chicago rapper has been active online this month, sharing many controversial posts on X (formerly Twitter) relating to antisemitism and misogyny.

According to reports, Ye’s behaviour has been worsened by using nitrous oxide. “When he got back to LA, he got dental work again, and I think that’s when he relapsed,” a friend allegedly said, referencing his return to the city in January after being away for six months.

A second source told the New York Post that the anaesthetic has damaged his relationship with his wife, Bianca Censori. “The nitrous took over in Los Angeles,” the person said. “After the Grammy party, he met people and it kind of escalated to things that he never does anymore when he’s in Japan.”

Another source claimed that Kanye uses nitrous oxide as medication. “There is an issue with nitrous and his dentist, and the medication leads to this meltdown,” they said. “When he comes off the nitrous, he’s crazy, he just wants to be able to do anything he wants. It’s as if thoughts are coming to him and he speaks his mind. It’s like a cultural Tourette’s experience; his entire life is a video game.”

An alleged former employee of Kanye said that Ye would forget conversations after just a few days. “His memory is so messed up this point,” they said. “You can kind of just convince him of things and he doesn’t really fact-check them. You can just say something that is not true, but if you say it with enough conviction at the right time, he’ll believe it.”

Last year, Kanye’s former Yeezy chief of staff, Milo Yiannopoulos, accused dentist Thomas Connelly of getting Ye addicted to nitrous oxide in an affidavit filed with the California Dental Board.

“Connelly got Ye hooked on nitrous — laughing gas,” he wrote in a series of X posts in August, which included the affidavit. “It is my belief that Connelly sought to diminish Ye’s mental faculties so that Connelly and his business associates could extract millions of dollars from him.”
