Kanye West to release new album 'Donda' in August

According to his representative, Kanye West will release his new album, Donda, on August 6th.

Donda was set to come out last Friday, but Kanye being Kanye, couldn’t resist tweaking further with the album and leaving fans to wear down the skin on their thumbs from relentlessly refreshing his page on Spotify.

Yeezy even allowed fans to attend a “listening event” titled ‘Kanye West Presents Donda’ last Thursday evening at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, which was also globally live-streamed by Apple.

Since then, he’s reportedly been living in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium and adding the finishing touches to Donda to get it inch-perfect in time for release.

Fans will remember that Kanye first planned to release Donda last July before moving it back until September and getting distracted by an ill-fated bid to become President.

The rapper’s representative has now confirmed to Pitchfork that it will arrive on August 6th. However, this isn’t our first rodeo, and with Yeezy’s track record, it’s hard to get too excited for a Kanye album before it arrives.

Last week, Ye shared an image of a whiteboard on Instagram with all the tracks written on it. However, not all of the song names were visible, but the post does suggest that Donda will contain at least 15 tracks, including ‘No Child Left Behind’, which the rapper teased in a Beats advertisement.

Kanye shared a version of the tracklist last year, and songs’ Off The Grid’, ‘Keep My Spirit Alive’, ‘Lord I Need You’, and the title track all appear to feature on the final version. Elsewhere, new songs ‘Pure Souls’ and ‘We Made It’ are also included.
