Kanye West nears settlement over sexual harassment lawsuit

Kanye West is nearing a settlement over a sexual harassment lawsuit from his former assistant.

The Chicago rapper was sued by Lauren Pisciotta in 2024, alleging sexual harassment, breach of contract, and wrongful termination.

According to Law360, lawyers for both Ye and Pisciotta told a Los Angeles court that a settlement-in-principle had been reached on June 29th.

Their attorneys appeared by phone and revealed they were working on a long-form agreement.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Nicholas F Daum was pleased but stated that he was confused because no opposition had been filed to the motion.

Pisciotta claimed the rapper sent her sexually graphic messages and photos of him engaged in sex acts, and failed to pay her a $3 million severance package.

In the lawsuit, filed in June 2024, she accused Kanye of “masturbating in front of plaintiff, oversharing intimate sexual details, photos, texts and videos of sex acts, including without limitation acts that [West] was engaged in and other pictures, and videos of Instagram models, current and former Yeezy LLC employees and various men and women.”

Ye denied the allegations against him. “Lauren Pisciotta’s amended complaint is the fourth version she has advanced,” a spokesperson said last year. “Each new revision contradicts the others; each is more absurd and outlandish than all previous claims combined.”

They continued, “Does Ms Pisciotta actually believe her confabulations? We cannot know. But this breathless new instalment of fantasy fiction discredits all past, present and future testimony. The Courts are no place to indulge delusions and mental disturbances.”

Kanye released his latest album, Bully, in March. It peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 chart with 152,00 units in its first week.
