Kanye West defends wife over her controversial Grammys outfit
Kanye West and his wife Bianca Censori recently made an appearance on the red carpet of the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, and, to the surprise of many, Censori decided to wear a rather skimpy outfit.
West’s wife is renowned for her questionable fashion choices, and many have assumed that the rapper is behind many of them. After appearing in a black fur coat alongside her husband, who was also dressed in all-black, the Australian model decided to remove her fur and pose in an invisible dress that left very little to the imagination.
Following the ceremony, there were various rumours about West and Censori, with many outlets reporting that the couple had been escorted out of the event. Most surmised that they were denied entry due to the nature of Cenori’s invisible dress. However, even once the lie was debunked, fans and media outlets alike voiced their disgust at the Australian’s nakedness.
That said, the Graduation creator recently took to social media to address the backlash his wife has been receiving since appearing on the red carpet of the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the rapper wrote, “My wife’s first red carpet opened a whole new world.”
He continued, “I keep staring at this photo like I was staring in admiration that night thinking wow I am so lucky to have a wife that is so smart talented brave and hot. She took a break from shooting her first film to make a movie in real life We tailored that invisible dress six times And just like magic poof we disappeared Thank you to all the outlets who recognized us and gave us back the energy we put in.”
According to Kanye, people kept on bringing up his mother and what she would have thought of the display if she were alive. However, Kanye West responded to these questions, writing, “People asked how would your mother feel. You don’t know my mama bitch.”
Following the ceremony, the Grammy’s executive producer, Raj Kapoor, told People magazine that the awards show’s dress code was “artistic black-tie, “and suggested that perhaps “in the music industry, I guess that’s up for interpretation.”
Kapoor unveiled that Kanye was allowed to turn up, but wouldn’t have been able to sit in the VIP area, stating, “If they were invited guests because we [would] know everybody who’s seated at the VIP tables that we have in front. We know each person who’s coming because every table is numbered. And so our director has to know where those artists are for award categories. Kanye wasn’t presenting. He was not performing either, which is mostly what those seats are.”
To the best of fans’ knowledge, West and Censori currently live in Tokyo where Kanye has been working on his forthcoming album Bully.
