Kanye West debunks claims he was thrown out of Grammys

College Dropout creator Kanye West has recently spoken out to debunk the recent claim that he and his wife, Bianca Censori, were thrown out of the 67th Grammy Awards after attempting to enter LA’s Crypto.com Arena. However, the lyricist, whose track ‘Carnival’ with Ty Dolla $ign and Rich The Kid was nominated for ‘Best Rap Song’, has insisted that he wasn’t turned away from the event.

West’s appearance turned many heads as the elusive producer rarely seems to be in the US nowadays. The Graduation creator faced a lot of backlash when he appeared on the red carpet, primarily due to his wife’s clothing. Censori showed up in a see-through dress but initially turned up in a fur coat, which made it all the more shocking when the paparazzi began snapping her in an incredibly revealing nude figure.

This follows headlines from 2023 that accused Censori and West of “indecent” public appearances. However, some fans were primed for the scandalous attire after West uploaded some Polaroid pictures of Censori in her mini-dress on X (formerly Twitter). He also shared some images of the pair kissing.

Following the ceremony that saw Kendrick Lamar sweep the hip-hop categories with ‘Not Like Us’, Page Six magazine reported that he was, in fact, invited to the Grammys and noted that the attire worn was done to replicate the album cover of ‘Vultures 1.’

However, unlike Page Six, TMZ has instead reported that the couple were not escorted from the event. The hip-hop media outlet has asserted that the ‘Get Em High’ lyricist chose to leave the Grammys with his wife after they walked the red carpet.

As the falsehood swirled around social media, West spoke out and accused former CNN host Don Lemon, saying on Instagram that Lemon “started the rumour” about the Grammys. In a now-deleted social media post, West wrote, “This the goofball that started the rumour that me and my wife got kicked out the Grammys.” He added, “3 decades of innovating music, and they always K***S like this.”

Lemon responded to the musician with a post, saying in a video, “First of all, Kanye… Ye, whatever your name is. I did not start a rumour about you being kicked out of the Grammys. I actually corrected it.” The reporter continued, “I saw someone on your team who asked me to correct it because it had been reported everywhere. Get your shit straight. You, of all people, calling me a c**n?… That ‘Make America Great Again’ hat must be too tight on your head.”

Lemon interviewed Kanye while he was on the red carpet and asked, “Kanye, when is Bully gonna come out?” To which the controversial rapper responded, responded, “I changed my name to Ye. Soon, this year, though.”
