Judge sentences Peewee Longway to 10 years in Georgia prison

Atlanta rapper Peewee Longway has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

The 41-year-old will spend the next decade behind bars after pleading guilty to drug conspiracy and firearm charges.

According to documents obtained by XXL, a federal judge in Georgia handed Longway 120 months in prison for his role in a drug bust that saw 101 people arrested in September 2024.

He was sentenced to 10 years for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance and 10 years for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, but the sentences will run concurrently. When he’s released from prison, he will also be on supervised release for five years.

Prosecutors were seeking a 14-year sentence, while Longway was asking for 10 years. In a memo filed on June 30th, he said, “I’m 41, I’m sick of it. I want to change.”

He stated that although he will “always love music,” it’s “not his first priority,” and is focused on becoming “a better father, brother, and person” following his sentence.

Speaking on the impact of his mother’s death, he said, “I didn’t know how to handle myself,” claiming the period was a “blackout.” He continued, “I wasn’t thinking clearly, my eyes were closed. I wasn’t focused, I wasn’t logical.”

Longway was previously signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 label, collaborating on a project titled Money, Pounds, Ammunition in 2013.

He’s worked with the likes of A$AP Rocky, Wiz Khalifa, Young Thug, Offset, Juicy J, Young Dolph, 2 Chainz, Migos, Rich Homie Quan, NBA YoungBoy, Boosie Badazz, and many others.

While he was awaiting sentencing, he released a new album titled INDO at the end of May.
