Judge to force Nicki Minaj to sell $20 million mansion

Nicki Minaj is on the verge of losing her $20 million home in California. A security guard won a $500,000 default judgment against the rapper and her husband, Kenneth Petty, but has yet to receive his money.

As a result, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Cindy Pánuco is close to ordering the sale of her Hidden Hills mansion.

Speaking on November 24th, she said, “My tentative is to grant this. I just want to make sure we’re getting it right.”

Nicki purchased the home in 2022 with a $13.3 million mortgage, with the judge waiting on a Bank of America statement to find out how much she’s paid so far.

“Let’s say there’s no bidder who offers the full $20 million, and it goes up for auction, and they don’t get fair market value, and it doesn’t cover everything,” she said. “If it doesn’t cover what the sale is required to cover – including the judgment, in this instance – then I would use that evidence to help me to determine that.”

Unless she pays the plaintiff, Nicki risks losing her home. According to Rolling Stone, a hearing has been scheduled for January 22nd, where the judge will deliver her ruling after receiving the paperwork.

Thomas Weidenmuller filed court documents in October, where he claimed Nicki and Petty had refused to pay him and asked the judge to put the property up for sale.

The documents read, “The dwelling is subject to a $13,258,000 mortgage lien and a $722,151 homestead exemption – together just under $14 million. The property’s current fair market value is appraised at $20 million, yielding approximately $6 million in equity beyond the lien and exemption.”

They added, “That amount is more than sufficient to satisfy the judgment, plus accrued interest and enforcement costs.”
