JPEGMAFIA announces new album ‘Experimental Rap’
JPEGMAFIA has announced his new album titled Experimental Rap.
The 36-year-old rapper’s sixth solo album is scheduled to be released on May 21st via his PEGGY label under AWAL Recordings.
Taking to Instagram on April 29th, he wrote, “My 6th album ‘Experimental Rap’ will be out on May 21st 2026.” Other artists took to the comments to share their excitement, including Three 6 Mafia and Phora.
Experimental Rap is set to include 25 songs, including the self-produced lead single, ‘Babygirl’, which was released this week.
In the first verse, he raps, “Turn his light off since you think you/ Tom Edison/ We cooking n*ggas we beef with like venison/ I serve you bitches the truth like it’s medicine/ Pistols and choppas with drums at my residence.”
JPEGMAFIA released his last album, I Lay Down My Life for You, in August 2024. It debuted at number 102 on the Billboard 200 chart with features from Vince Staples, Denzel Curry, and Buzzy Lee.
In the years since his last album, JPEGMAFIA dropped a collaborative EP with Flume titled We Live in a Society.
He also supported Linkin Park on their From Zero World Tour between June 2025 and September 2025, while collaborating with Geese on ‘Trinidad’ from their Getting Killed album.
During an interview with Kerrang last year, he claimed that people are quick to make assumptions about him.
“Don’t nobody know shit about me,” he said. “Don’t know where I went to school and don’t know who my family is, because I didn’t put that out there. People have this idea of me, mostly from being online, but it’s a projected image and a projected idea.”
