Jennifer Lopez seen arguing with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs on night of alleged rape with Jay-Z

The allegations surrounding Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs remain the biggest story in hip-hop and now, more people are being dragged into the accusations levelled against the music mogul, including his former girlfriend Jennifer Lopez.

Combs and Lopez dated between 1999 and 2001, and for the two years they were an item, they looked like hip-hop’s new power couple. However, it appears that the Bronx vocalist and the Bad Boy founder were in a heated argument the night that Combs and Jay-Z allegedly raped a 13-year-old female in 2000, which both men strongly deny.

Photographs taken at Diddy’s 2000 VMAs afterparty have recently resurfaced, and Lopez can be seen angrily shouting at the Press Play creator in one photo. In another snap, the ‘Get Right’ singer can be seen looking down and scowling at the producer as ge pours his guests some alcohol.

Although the lawsuit anonymously filed in October alleges that there was one female celebrity in the room during the assault, there is no evidence to suggest that it was Lopez and, so far, there is no indication that she was ever involved in Combs’ “freak offs.”

The photographs were taken at the now-defunct Lotus nightclub in Manhattan on September 7th, 2000. Although Lopez was present at the gathering, she can be seen standing by her sister Lynda, looking quite isolated.

Combs and Lopez’s relationship saw them attend many glamorous A-list parties, and Combs helped Lopez during the early days of her career. Still, she has not appeared in any lawsuits, with the latest claims filed against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter.

Earlier this year, The singer’s ex-husband recently claimed that Lopez began falling under the influence of Combs when she was working on her 1999 project, On The 6. Still, this is a period of her life that she has left in the past, and she has made a concerted effort to distance herself from Combs.

The 55-year-old’s representative has not yet responded to questions about the debacle, but she has spoken many times openly about Combs. In 2011, she spoke with Vanity Fair about the incarcerated musician, stating, “We broke up many times (before that), and got back together and broke up again, and nobody knew about it. It was very tempestuous. Towards the end, it was emotionally exhausting. It was good that I was young.”

According to court filings, Combs allegedly “abused, molested, raped, assaulted, threatened and coerced women, minors and others” for decades. Over the years, it claims that his “close friend Shawn Carter [Jay-Z]” witnessed “many” of his alleged crimes. Although Lopez interacted with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs as a young woman, she hasn’t attempted to bring a lawsuit against him.

Jay-Z has denied all of the allegations made against him and has taken issue with several elements of the lawsuit. The Brooklyn icon has highlighted the unfair abuse of anonymity by the plaintiff, and his attorney, Alex Spiro, has formally complained about it.

In a motion, Spiro wrote, “Fair is fair. It is not consistent with justice, fairness, or the rules governing federal proceedings for the plaintiff and her counsel to smear [Jay-Z] ‘s good name.” Spiro also claims that Jay has built an “impeccable reputation” and has never been accused of sexual misconduct in the past.

The Reasonable Doubt creator has also questioned Tony Buzbee’s motives for involving him in the case and has admitted that he believes the founder of The Buzbee Law Firm, Tony Buzbee, was only filing it because he refused to settle with the lawyer out of court. Jay has suggested that Buzbee was asking for “extortionate” amounts and was using a lawsuit to “blackmail” him.

So far, Jay-Z and Diddy are the only two musicians named in any lawsuit.
