Jacksonville rapper Ksoo files to appeal murder conviction

Jacksonville rapper Ksoo is attempting to appeal his murder conviction from last year.

The 27-year-old was sentenced to life in prison in October for the murder of 23-year-old Charles ‘Lil Buck’ McCormick Jr in 2020.

Now, Ksoo has filed an appeal of the conviction. According to Complex, court records show that the request was made on February 10th, with the decision still pending.

The update comes after Ksoo’s lawyer, Christopher Decoste, stated that the rapper planned to appeal the conviction after he was sentenced.

“In Jackson-vile, Ksoo was sentenced on lies and deals – not evidence,” he said in a statement at the time. “The video shows it’s not him. The fight continues. We will appeal.”

The rapper and his cousin, Leroy Whitaker Jr, were both sentenced to life behind bars on the same charges. His brother, Abdul Robinson Jr, also received a 12-year sentence for pleading guilty to accessory after the fact.

Ksoo’s father, Abdul Robinson Sr, identified his son as the shooter and admitted to burning his clothes. As a result of testifying against his son, he was sentenced to time served after already spending 1,898 days in jail.

He admitted that turning on his son and nephew was the “hardest decision I’ve had to make in my life.”

Last month, the rapper revealed that he wishes death on his father for snitching on him. While promoting a song on Instagram, he wrote, “This the life i chose ian running from nun the video dropping when @bigbaggghead get 20k followers #imwaitingonmydaddytodie.”

Ksoo recently pled guilty to a second murder, admitting to killing 16-year-old Adrian ‘Lil Bibby’ Gainer Jr in 2019. An additional 10 years were added to his life sentence on second-degree murder charges.
