Jack Harlow reveals his 10 favourite songs of all time

Jack Harlow has revealed the 10 songs that have shaped his life.

Harlow has established himself as one of the biggest names in rap, but he wouldn’t be the artist he is today without his influences.

During a recent conversation with Rolling Stone, Harlow broke down his 10 favourite tracks of all time.

Harlow kicked things off with Van Hunt’s 2004 song, ‘Dust’, which appeared on his debut self-titled album.

“It feels like my earliest memory of a favourite song, and I essentially wanted to try and give you a chronological layout of my life as best as I could,” he said. “Essentially, this song is one of my introductions to music.”

He continued, “It’s one of the first songs I ever was attached to. My dad used to play it back when we lived in Shelbyville, a little outside of Louisville. So I just have an emotional connection to this song.”

Harlow went on to pick songs from Kanye West, Fergie, Eminem, New Boyz, and Snoop Dogg.

Speaking on ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’, he said, “Favourite beat ever, that’s my favourite beat of all time. What I love about this song and a lot of Pharrell’s production is the plush cushion quality of it.”

He added, “It’s not harsh – it knocks, but it’s not harsh. It’s boutique, it’s cushioned. It’s like what we were trying to do on ‘First Class’, it’s soft, it’s what I was trying to do on Monica.”

Harlow closed out his list with songs by Outkast, Drake, Elvis Presley, and Donell Jones.
