J Cole announces release date for new album ‘The Fall-Off’
J Cole has finally announced the release date for his new album, The Fall-Off.
The Dreamville rapper took to social media on January 14th to share a trailer for the project while confirming a February 6th release date.
Alongside the trailer, Cole also shared the album cover on his Instagram account.
The album is available to pre-order via the rapper’s website. The description reads, “This is the first-ever pressing of The Fall-Off. This limited edition was assembled under the strongest security measures possible in hopes to preserve the reveal of album artwork and music until the moment they were intended to be released.”
It continues, “Production demanded full-scale, around-the-clock security in multiple facilities across North America to provide the best chance of success. With special packaging modifications, we are calling this first pressing the ‘Stealth Edition’, and it will be the only time the album will be available in this form.”
The Fall-Off will serve as the follow-up to The Off-Season, which was released in 2021. It reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart with 282,000 units in its first week.
During an interview with The Breakfast Club in 2024, Trae Tha Truth was full of praise for Cole’s upcoming album.
“Don’t get it fucked up – his album coming,” he said. “And when the album coming, it’s probably gonna shock a lot of people. Remember what I tell you all the time: a lot of people form opinions on a lot of things and they don’t fully know the situation. He’ll be aight. Before it’s too late, you never know what bro what may do.”
Cole’s last project, Might Delete Later, arrived in 2024. The mixtape famously included his Kendrick Lamar and Drake diss track, ‘7 Minute Drill’, which he decided to remove from streaming platforms.
