J Cole’s first-week sales projections for ‘The Fall-Off’

J Cole just released his new album, The Fall-Off, last week, and now the first-week sales projections have been revealed.

Cole treated fans to his long-awaited studio album on February 6th, which served as his first album in five years.

According to Hits Daily Double, The Fall-Off is expected to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart with around 280,000 to 300,000 units in its first week.

In comparison, his last album, 2021’s The Off-Season, reached number one with 282,000 units in its first week. It broke Spotify’s one-day streaming record at the time with 62 million streams.

Every solo album Cole has ever released, Cole World: The Sideline Story, Born Sinner, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, 4 Your Eyez Only, KOD, and The Off-Season, has reached number one in the US.

The Fall-Off consists of 24 songs across two discs, with uncredited features from Tems, Erykah Badu, Future, Burna Boy, Morray, Petey Pablo, and PJ.

Leading up to the release of the project, Cole explained the theme behind each of the two discs.

The Fall-Off, a double album made with intentions to be my last, brings the concept of my first project full circle,” he said. “Disc 29 tells a story of me returning to my hometown at age 29. A decade after moving to New York, accomplishing what would have seemed impossible to most, I was at a crossroads with the 3 loves of my life; my woman, my craft, and my city.”

He continued, “Disc 39 gives insight into my mindset during a similar trip home, this time as a 39 year old man. Older and a little closer to peace.”
