J Cole releasing deluxe 10th anniversary 'Born Sinner' vinyl

North Carolina lyricist J Cole has announced that to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his second album, Born Sinner; fans will be able to buy an exclusive, limited edition vinyl of the project. Earlier this week, the musician posted a picture of the gold vinyl on Instagram to give fans a preview of the upcoming release.

Cole has let fans know that the re-release will be available to purchase through his record label Dreamville and highlighted that the limited number of vinyl would make this a collector’s item. Taking to Instagram, Dreamville posted an image of the item with a caption reading, “Born Sinner turns ten next month! @realcoleworld In celebration, we’re releasing a gold deluxe vinyl edition available for preorder now!”

J Cole is not the only artist to do this recently. Last year Compton rapper and lyricist Kendrick Lamar released a ten-year anniversary vinyl for his 2012 project, Good Kid, m.A.A.d city. Perhaps next year, fans can expect to get a re-release of J Cole’s 2014 album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, which is undeniably a fan favourite.

The Wet Dreamz emcee’s fans went wild in the comments section, with the post sparking a frenzy of joy. Many fans expressed their shock at how quickly the ten years went by. Several admitted that the upcoming release will be the first vinyl purchase they have ever made. The 2013 body of work was one of Cole’s first mainstream releases, and it birthed incredible tracks such as ‘Power Trip’ featuring Miguel, ‘Runaway,’ and ‘Forbidden Fruit’ featuring Kendrick Lamar. The vinyl is available for pre-order through the Dreamville sub-section of the Interscope Records website. You can listen to the album below.
