Insane Clown Posse share trailer for documentary, ‘The United States of Insanity’

Insane Clown Posse have shared the first trailer for their upcoming documentary, The United States of Insanity, which follows their surreal run-in with The FBI.

The group have collected a cult-like fanbase that are known widely as Juggalos. In 2011, the Federal Bureau of Investigation decided to classify them as a “loosely organised hybrid gang”, which led to a legal battle ensuing between the two organisations. It’s a central theme of the documentary.

Tom Putnam and Brenna Sanchez directed The United States of Insanity with the documentary making its world premiere at Fantastic Fest in Texas on September 28th before being distributed in selected cinemas towards the end of October.

The synopsis for the film reads, “The World’s Most Hated Band, notorious rappers Insane Clown Posse, find themselves as unwitting warriors for the First Amendment after they and their one million die-hard fans (called Juggalos) are labelled a gang by the FBI.

“With the help of the ACLU, the band fights to uncover the reasons behind the designation and get removed from the gang list as their fans begin to losing their jobs, have their children put into protective custody, and face jail time – all because of their musical tastes.”
