Eminem confirmed to play FBI informant White Boy Rick in 50 Cent’s new series ‘BMF’

Eminem has teamed up with his close confidant 50 Cent and is turning his hand to acting for a new series, BMF (Black Mafia Family), based on true events.

Shady will play ‘White Boy Rick, real name Richard Wershe Jr. in the series. Wersche infiltrated a Detroit gang in the ’80s while as an informant to the FBI. However, when he was only 17, ‘White Boy Rick’ was sacked by the authority and sentenced to life in prison for possession of cocaine.

Wersche was released at the age of 50 and is the topic of the 2017 documentary, White Boy, plus the 2018 scripted drama, White Boy Rick.

“I’m honoured and appreciative of my good friend Em for supporting my new show BMF,” said 50 Cent in a statement. “We couldn’t do a show based in Detroit without incorporating the legend that is Eminem.”

BMF’s synopsis heralds it as “a story about love, kinship and capitalism in the pursuit of the American dream”.

The programme premieres on Starz on September 26th, although Eminem’s part in the drama is short. Slim will only appear in one episode of the Detroit based true crime story.
