Ice-T once called out Lenny Kravitz for doing “weirdo sh*t”

Ice-T is one of the forefathers of gangsta rap and a pioneer of West Coast hip-hop. His 1987 album Rhyme Pays is a specimen of high-quality early California rap music, and his track ‘6 N The Mornin’ is considered one of the first of its kind.

Although the lyricist transitioned to acting many years ago, he still has the fire of hip-hop in him and the rebellious West Coast streak. However, he usually refrains from arguing on the internet.

Ice-T doesn’t start feuds online often, but earlier this year, the emcee took to social media after a Lenny Kravitz interview in which the rock artist revealed that he’s not interested in sex and has been celibate for nearly a decade.

The ‘Fly Away’ singer expressed his disdain for modern hookup culture and said that he made the decision to become celibate after his lengthy string of dating and failed marriages. Kravitz was married to Lisa Bonet from 1987 until 1993. The couple eventually divorced, and Kravitz proceeded to date Adriana Lima and then Nicole Kidman.

However, in his interview, Kravitz revealed that as a child, he didn’t want to be like his father, who had an affair with his mother and was a local lothario. As such, after gaining a reputation for being a playboy, the rock artist took a step back to reevaluate his behaviour.

Speaking about how his marriage to Lisa Bonet affected him, Kravitz told the publication, “After the marriage, I became more like him. I was becoming a player. I didn’t like it. I didn’t want to be that guy. So I had to tackle that, and it took years.”

That said, the Let Love Rule creator revealed that since he stopped dating, he has become celibate. When asked if he would remain celibate, he responded, “Yes. It’s a spiritual thing.” Furthermore, he suggested that he couldn’t see that changing soon, stating, “I have become very set in my ways, in the way I live.”

This is when West Coast rapper Ice-T felt he needed to chime in as he found it ridiculous that Kravitz had stopped having sex based on ambiguous spiritual senses. Taking to X, the Rhyme Pays emcee wrote, “9yrs without sex? F*ck that BS. Weirdo sh*t!”

Despite some backlash, he doubled down, insisting, “That sh*t’s weird to me I love to f*ck. A lot.” He added, “If you’re a guy and you can go nine years without sex, you’re following the wrong page.”
