Ice Cube claims that he lost $9 million from not getting a Covid vaccine

Ice Cube has shared the reality over suggestions that he lost a vast sum of money because he refused to get the Covid-19 vaccine. When the legendary rapper-come-actor appeared on the most recent episode of Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast this week, he said that he had to turn down an acting role because he was not vaccinated.

I turned down a movie because I didn’t wanna get the motherfucking jab,” Ice Cube said. “I turned down $9 million because I didn’t want to get the jab. Fuck that jab, and fuck y’all for trying to make me get it. I don’t know how Hollywood feels about me right now.”

Ice Cube went on to explain that he didn’t necessarily refuse the money; it was more the fact that he was not allowed to work without proof of vaccination. He added, “I didn’t turn [$9 million] down. Them motherfuckers wouldn’t give it to me because I wouldn’t get the shot. I didn’t turn it down. They just didn’t give it to me.”

It had been reported that the rapper left Sony’s comedy Oh Hell No back in October. Ice Cube would have starred alongside Jack Black, but it appears that after Sony requested that he get vaccinated, Ice Cube refused. The production of the film was set to take place this winter in Hawaii.

Now the film, directed by Bad Trip’s Kitao Sakurai, has been pushed back. Black himself was unable to begin production as he injured himself during a recent episode of Conan. It appears that the studio is still looking for a replacement for Ice Cube. The news is quite strange as Ice Cube had heavily promoted the use of face masks during the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as releasing his own range of pro-mask t-shirts.
