How did Kanye West meet Bianca Censori?
In January 2023, Kanye West was first snapped with Bianca Censori in public at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills. The legendary rapper had been single – it seemed, at least – for just under a year, having broken up with Julia Fox around February the previous year.
It was a “moment in time” for Fox, who had dated the musician for around a month, in what was potentially the highest profile month-long relationship in celebrity history. Famously not one to stay quiet and sulk in a corner, Kanye was back on the dating scene soon enough, this time with the 27-year-old Censori.
Amazingly, by the time they were first caught on camera together, the two had already married in a tight-lipped ceremony in December 2022, utilising a confidentiality license to keep their relationship a private one. Considering the publicity surrounding his relationship with Fox, and his marriage to Kim Kardashian before that – in which ‘Kimye’ were arguably the most famous couple on the planet – it is, perhaps, no great surprise that the consistently contrarian Kanye was going to go down a different route for his next marriage.
But how did this relationship between an Australian architect and designer in her mid-20s and the Kanye West come to fruition in the first place?
According to Censori – well, her LinkedIn profile, anyway – she worked at Kanye’s company Yeeze as an architectural designer in November 2020. At this time, Kanye was still with Kardashian, although the two were reportedly living separately at this point, the latter in California with their children, the former in Wyoming focusing on his music. And, also, Presidential campaign, if anyone still speaks about that.
Allegedly, it was a matter of good and wholesome direct message sliding that did it, according to a woman called Kate who claimed to know Censori.
“Ye slid into her DMs, found her on Instagram, and said ‘Come and work for me,’ and she dropped out. I’m not actually sure if she’s an architect,” Kate said on an Australian radio show.
While whether Censori is an architect or not is yet to be either proven or disproven, she is most certainly a muse. In December 2022 – the same month the pair got married – Kanye shared a song on Instagram named ‘Censori Overload’, which at first appeared as an alternative way to spell sensory. With lyrics that include “wakin’ up to ‘I can’t do this anymore’ texts” / “And the Bible said I can’t have any more sex ‘til marriage”, it was upon initial upload shrugged off by most as Kanye being on the more cryptic side. The following line – “No drip ‘til Paris” – was even suggested by some to be a reference to Kardashian and the infamous Parisian jewellery burglary in 2016.
Instead, it seems to be referencing Censori and their marriage, with a potential explanation behind the quick turn of events between the two.
Despite starting off their marriage committed to privacy, Kanye and Censori have made headline news throughout their relationship. In August 2023, paparazzi photos emerged of what appeared to be Censori performing a sexual act upon Kanye in public in Venice, which is against Italian law; and at the Grammy Awards this year, Censori wore a practically all-nude outfit that prompted significant backlash. Rumours circulated soon after of a break-up, aided by Kanye releasing a song called ‘BIANCA’, which states “She ran away”.
