Hip-hop world pays tribute to Tay Keith following Nashville death

The hip-hop world has paid tribute to Tay Keith after he was found dead in Nashville.

The 29-year-old (born Brytavious Chambers) passed away at his apartment on June 18th, with police officers stating that no foul play is suspected.

Keith made a name for himself with hit singles like Travis Scott’s ‘Sicko Mode‘, which was nominated for ‘Best Rap Song’ at the Grammy Awards, Drake’s ‘Nonstop’, BlocBoy JB’s ‘Look Alive’, and Sexyy Red’s ‘Pound Town’.

Following the news of his death, rappers and producers took to social media to honour the Grammy-nominated musician.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Machine Gun Kelly wrote, “Damn…tay keith influenced so much and he wasn’t even 30 yet.”

Memphis legend Juicy J of Three 6 Mafia gave Keith his flowers, writing, “Can’t believe I’m saying this RIP TAY KEITH Memphis Tenn Legend. Prayers up for the family friends & fans we lost a great one.”

Maryland rapper Cordae referenced the producer’s tagline, “Tay Keith, fuck these n*ggas up,” while revealing he worked with him before he was famous.

“RIP Tay Keith you truly fucked us up w this one,” he said. “Fun fact when I had 3K followers, and he was already platinum he did a session w me and told I’d make it #facts @almightyj was there. God bless the family.”

MoneyBagg Yo wrote, “We just chopped it days ago brudda. Damn my n*gga we wasn’t done,” while NAV said, “One of the coolest prod I ever knew.”

BlocBoy JB, who was one of the first to confirm his death, wrote, “Damn Cuz You Just Hurt Me Bad.” Another collaborator, Hitkidd, added, “I ain’t even got the words, we been doing this since 2010 @taykeith.”
