The best hip-hop albums dropping in October 2025

2025 has been full of impressive hip-hop albums. Whether it’s legends returning or newer artists putting forward their dominance, we’ve seen it all.

So far, rap fans have been treated to projects like Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist’s Alfredo 2, Clipse’s Let God Sort Em Out, Joey Bada$$’ Lonely at the Top, and Earl Sweatshirt’s Live Laugh Love. We’ve also seen the return of greats of the genre, including Ghostface Killah, Slick Rick, and Raekwon.

Other standout albums have included Saba and No I.D.’s From the Private Collection, MIKE’s Showbiz!, and Mac Miller’s posthumous Balloonerism.

However, the year is far from over yet. Below, we take a look at some of the biggest new albums set to be released in October 2025. Projects will arrive from all corners of the US, showcasing the best rap music has to offer.

Hip-hop albums dropping in October 2025:

YG – ‘The Gentleman’s Club’

YG positioned himself as an essential West Coast artist with his first two albums, My Krazy Life and Still Brazy, released in 2014 and 2016. Although his more recent albums haven’t felt quite as urgent, he’s setting himself up nicely for his next project. His seventh studio album, The Gentleman’s Club, is set to be released on October 3rd.

Due out on his 4Hunnid label, YG’s upcoming LP will include the singles ‘Lovers or Friends’ with Leon Thomas, ‘Hollywood’ featuring Shoreline Mafia, and the devastatingly confessional ‘2004‘. The song, featuring Buddy and The Gang, finds YG opening up about being sexually assaulted as a child.

Mobb Deep – ‘Infinite’

Mobb Deep are back with a posthumous album. Infinite is scheduled for release on October 10th and will serve as the first project to be released since Prodigy died in 2017. Arriving on Mass Appeal Records, the album will feature 15 songs with appearances from Nas, Clipse, Ghostface Killah, Big Noyd, Jorja Smith and H.E.R.

Speaking on the album, Havoc told Rolling Stone, “With Infinite, fans can expect nothing less than the essence of Mobb Deep – the gritty New York sound they know and love, unapologetically true to what we have always delivered, even in a constantly shifting musical landscape.”

Gucci Mane – ‘Episodes’

Gucci Mane is one of the hardest-working rappers making music. The Atlanta artist is ready to release his 17th solo album, Episodes, on October 17th, which couldn’t be any more fitting. The release date, 10/17, is a nod to his record label, 1017 Records, previously known as 1017 Brick Squad and 1017 Eskimo.

Just because he releases a lot of music, you’d be mistaken to think there’s a dip in quality. Episodes will include the singles ‘Voices’, ‘Psycho’, ‘Preference’, and ‘You Don’t Love Me’ featuring Sexyy Red. Another song, ‘I Need You’, also boasts one of the best intros of his career.

The Cool Kids – ‘Hi Top Fade’

Sir Michael Rocks and Chuck Inglish made their long-awaited return as The Cool Kids in 2016 after gaining a cult following with projects like When Fish Ride Bicycles, Bake Sale, and Gone Fishing. On October 10th, duo will return with Hi Top Fade, their first album in three years following Baby Oil Staircase/Chillout.

Releasing on A-Trak’s Fool’s Gold Records, the project will include 15 tracks. It features the singles ‘Foil Base’ and ‘Banana in the Tailpipe’. The pair decided to put the album together as a prequel to their collaborative album with Mannie Fresh.

Roddy Ricch – ‘The Navy Album’

Roddy Ricch’s new project has been a long time coming. The Navy Album has suffered multiple setbacks, but is finally set for release on October 24th. The Compton rapper’s latest album, out on Atlantic Records, will be his first since 2021’s Live Life Fast. More recently, he dropped his Feed Tha Streets III mixtape in 2022.

The Navy Album will include the personal singles ‘Lonely Road’ and ‘Survivor’s Remorse’, a track that touches on his rise to fame over a sample of Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Me’. The project includes production from Terrace Martin and Turbo.
