HBO share trailer for new DMX documentary

HBO has shared the first trailer for their upcoming documentary about DMX.

The film chronicles the late rapper after his release from prison for tax fraud and held hopes to restart his career. Additionally, the documentary looks back at his problems with addiction which persistently riddled his life, and his financial issues.

The forthcoming documentary is part of HBO’s Music Box series. Previous films featured include Woodstock 99: Peace, Love And Rage plus pictures focusing on Juice Wrld, jazz hero Kenny G, and Saturday Night Fever producer Robert Stigwood.

It arrives on November 25th in the United States on streaming service HBO Max. However, a release date for the UK is yet to be announced.

This April, DMX tragically passed away at just 50-years-old at White Sails Hospital in New York after falling into intensive care following a cardiac arrest a week earlier.

Following his passing, a source from the Westchester County medical examiner’s office confirmed the cause of his death to Vulture. “It was cardiac arrest for a period of time, so there was no circulation to the brain,” the source told the publication and indicated that cocaine caused this chain of events.”

They further stated that “an analysis of Simmons’s urine showed the presence of cocaine”. They went on to confirm, “His death literally happened immediately because the brain was dead,” the source added.
