Halle Bailey granted restraining order against DDG

Halle Bailey has been granted a restraining order against YouTuber and hip-hop rapper DDG, her ex-boyfriend and the father of her one-year-old son.

TMZ first reported news of the legal action against Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., after only seven months of separation. The restraining order request accuses Granberry, 27, of physical, emotional, verbal, and financial abuse.

Bailey reports that physical abuse started in January, when Granberry came to pick up their son. During a scheduling dispute, The Little Mermaid actor alleges that Granberry pulled her hair, slammed her face against the steering wheel, and chipped her tooth. Court documents include images of the alleged injuries.

The actor also outlined two more abuse attempts. On one occasion, Granberry tried to take the sick child away from Bailey. He allegedly “became verbally abusive” and smashed her home security camera when he realised it was recording the argument. Bailey says she filed a police report after the incident.

Per The Associated Press, Bailey says in documents requesting the order: “Throughout our relationship, Daryl has been and continues to be physically, verbally, emotionally, and financially abusive towards me. I am seeking orders to protect myself and our son Halo from his ongoing abuse.”

She continued: “Whenever he wishes to cause upset, he starts bad mouthing me to his several millions of fans. He claims I am withholding our son and that I am with other men. As a result, I then receive threats and hate on social media.”

DDG recently came under fire last year after he gifted Halo a Ferrari. During a live stream with model India Love, DDG admitted it wasn’t an actual purchase but was a rental, unveiling, “Want me to be honest? I rented it. Okay? I said it. I think it was cool. It was a good moment. He gon’ be able to look at it when he get older.”

A hearing over a more permanent restraining order is scheduled for June 4th.
