Gucci Mane accused of domestic violence by ex-girlfriend
Atlanta rapper and founder of 1017 Records, Gucci Mane, has been accused of domestic violence by his former girlfriend, Mac Bre-Z. The female accusing him used to be on his roster of artists and signed to his label. However, she recently took to Instagram claiming that not only was he abusive, and alleges he also didn’t credit her appropriately when she contributed to his songs.
Posting an old photo of the pair together, Mac Bre-Z captioned: “You loved collaborating with me on your albums & mixtapes. But I would love to get paid for my writing credits.” She continued, “They say you changed for the better. So Why haven’t you done the right thing & just compensate me for everything I’m entitled to? Everybody eating off these records but me.”
Mac Bre-Z then went on to make accusations pertaining to domestic violence, alleging that she could have had him imprisoned, writing, “I never did a tell-all & exposed any stories about your personal life over the six years we were together. When you punched me in the face, I could’ve snitched & had you arrested while you were on bond for the murder case of Jeezy artist.”
The female rapper expressed that for many years, she chose to keep quiet but claims that she is now at breaking point, adding, “I never bad-mouthed you in the media or tried to assassinate your character. Enough is Enough. Times Up. I’m coming for what’s rightfully mine. Respectfully.”
The alleged violence that Mac Bre-Z was speaking about in her post occurred during a live performance in 2005. In footage from the show, Gucci and the female rapper can be seen arguing. However, after attempting to take her off stage, Gucci allegedly punched her in the face.
Mac Bre-Z spoke about the 2005 incident in a 2022 interview during an appearance on The Progress Report, where she explained, “First of all, a lot of people made light of the situation. I would never understand that, ’cause if somebody punch your mama, your sister, your cousin, you wouldn’t have this same energy.”
However, in 2022, she suggested it was a one-off incident with the caveat, “That was the first and last time he put his hands on me.” Gucci Mane has been a married man since 2017 when he tied the knot with Keyshia Ka’Oir. BET paid for the wedding for their TV show The Mane Event, which depicted the build-up to the ceremony as well as the big day, which took place in Miami. That said, it is doubtful he wants to engage with his ex-girlfriend.
Gucci Mane is yet to the respond to the allegation.
