Ghostface Killah announces release date for ‘Supreme Clientele 2’

Ghostface Killah has officially announced Supreme Clientele 2. The Wu-Tang Clan rapper confirmed details for the long-awaited sequel to his 2000 album on July 31st.

Supreme Clientele 2 is set to include 22 songs, featuring Raekwon, Method Man, GZA, Nas, Redman, Conway the Machine, Styles P, MOP, and Dave Chappelle. It will be released on Mass Appeal Records.

In a statement, Ghostface said, “Supreme Clientele was a frame of mind and era in time. You could never duplicate that feeling, but you can tap back in. We dug in the files from years ago and pulled together a Clientele that is Supreme! Get ready: Supreme Clientele 2 is now.”

The first single, ‘Rap Kingpin‘, was released this week. The Scram Jones-produced track samples Eric B and Rakim’s ‘My Melody’ and his classic song, ‘Mighty Healthy’.

During an interview with Rolling Stone last year, Ghostface revealed that some of the album’s songs were around 16 or 17 years old.

“Every track is jewellery. It’s rare pieces of art,” he said. “It’s vintage, but it sounds spanking new when you catch it. I think with that right there, we going to stamp hip-hop from what my generation know it is, know it to be, and just put the nail in the coffin with that. I don’t think there might ever be one of those kinds of records [again].”

Supreme Clientele was released in February 2000 and debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200, with 134,000 copies sold in its first week. It was Ghostface’s second solo album, and it included guests like RZA, Raekwon, U-God, and Masta Killa.

The sequel will follow 2024’s Set the Tone (Guns & Roses) album, which featured Kanye West, Nas, Raekwon, Jim Jones, Sheek Louch, and more.
