Future’s ‘The Real Me’ becomes his 12th number one album
The new Future album, The Real Me, has debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
The Real Me was released through Epic Records on July 10th, serving as his first solo album in four years following I Never Liked You.
The album opened with 131,000 units in its first week for the week ending July 16th. Of that figure, 118,000 were SEA units (120.29 million on-demand song streams), and 13,000 were pure album sales.
It was released as an 11-track download, 13-track vinyl, 21-track CD, and a 22-track download and streaming edition.
The Real Me was supported by the lead single ‘Radio’. While the project has no guest features, producers include Pharrell, ATL Jacob, TM88, Allen Ritter, Wheezy, DJ Spinz, and many others.
Future most recently topped the Billboard 200 in 2024 with his Mixtape Pluto project. That same year, his Metro Boomin collaborative albums, We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You, also reached number one.
Several years ago, Epic Records CEO Sylvia Rhone, who has worked with Future since 2012, spoke to Billboard about his success.
“He’s really a force of nature,” she said. “He works harder than anyone that I have worked with in the past. It’s his 10th year in the business, and each year he just gets better and better. He hasn’t aged out like some before him.”
She continued, “After 10 years of incomparable influence on culture, he hasn’t even scratched the surface of his creative impact. He still has such a career ahead of him. He’s a special guy. And when you find those kinds of genius artists, you just have to let them do their thing.”
