Future announces new album ‘The Real Me’
Future has announced his new album.
The Atlanta rapper has gone four years without releasing a solo LP, but that’s set to change later this year.
Hendrix took to his Freebandz label’s Instagram account on June 15th to reveal that his new album is titled The Real Me.
The announcement comes following a week of Spotify teasing something titled “T.R.M.” on billboards across the US. Despite the news, there’s currently no release date for the upcoming project.
Future released his last solo album, I Never Liked You, in April 2022. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart with 222,000 units in its first week, featuring Drake, Kanye West, Young Thug, Kodak Black, Gunna and more.
Although the effort served as his last solo album, Future has been far from stagnant. He released a solo mixtape, appropriately titled Mixtape Pluto, in September 2024.
He also released two collaborative albums with Metro Boomin that same year: We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You.
With his last solo album, Future revealed that he wore his heart on his sleeve when it came to his joy and suffering.
“I’m putting myself out there,” he told GQ in an interview. “Sharing my lifestyle with the world. Sharing my pain with the world. Sharing my ups, sharing my downs with the entire universe. I believe in the energy of the universe and manifestation.”
He continued, “That’s why I’m giving myself, because I’m willing to correct myself. I don’t want to just… be wrong. I’m willing to give you all of me, so you can tell me how to build on me, and make me a better me.”
