Future provides an update on his upcoming mixtape

Atlanta rapper Future has updated fans on his upcoming mixtape, MIXTAPE PLUTO. The emcee recently released a collaborative album alongside Metro Boomin’, which sparked a battle between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. That said, his followers are looking forward to what he has in store for them next.

The lyricist took to Twitter/X on May 28th to share some updates about his personal excitement about the project and shared a release date claiming it would drop on May 10th.

Teasing his eagerly awaiting fans, Future wrote, “I can’t sleep until it’s complete #MIXTAPEPLUTO.” He later added, “MAY 10TH [sneezing face emoji] MIXTAPE PLUTO.” He then proceeded to aim at an unknown rival, writing, “Fuck yo album Shit ain’t slappin’ like my MIXTAPE.” Many assumed it was a shot at Atlanta artist Gunna, whose One of Wun album was also set to arrive on May 10th.

Future had previously aimed at Gunna online when he posted a since-deleted link to his ‘Prada Dem’ video. However, he swiftly deleted the link but instead shared a snippet of the song ‘Type Shit’, where he addressed the Young Thug YSL RIO trial, rapping, “I don’t hang with rats, that’s some new type shit/ Get a n*gga whacked on the news type shit.”

However, the tweets continued. Future covertly and indirectly added insult to injury on Twitter/X by simply writing, “Turn this shit bac up Notch……! Fuc What These boys talkin bout.”

However, it later turned out that he wasn’t addressing Gunna but was promoting the Tee Grizzley song ‘Swear to God’ on which Future rhymes, “Fuck your album, shit ain’t slappin’ like my mixtape.”

Fans are still waiting for the highly-anticipated mixtape. However, it is still unclear when it will arrive as Future has already released two joint albums with Metro Boomin in a short space of time. We Don’t Trust You and its follow-up, We Still Don’t Trust You, which landed weeks later, both topped the Billboard 200 with over combined first-week sales of almost 400,000.

Furthermore, the aftermath created by the track ‘Like That’ featuring Kendrick Lamar continued into April and May as Lamar and Drake went back and forth with diss tracks.
