Frank Ocean to top the bill at Coachella in 2023

Frank Ocean will be the headliner for the 2023 edition of the idyllic Californian music and arts festival Coachella.

The co-founder of the event, Paul Tollett, spoke with the Los Angeles Times and made the revelation. In the piece, journalist Steve Appleford wrote: “Normally, Tollett would never reveal the name of any act so far in advance, but he says fans deserve some reassurance after the chaos and uncertainty of the last year and a half.”

“Right now, it’s the Wild West,” Tollett commented during the interview. “I’m just trying to be as fair as I can to artists and to the fans to make sure that eventually they get to see everyone that we talked about.”

Ocean was originally set to headline the event in 2020, which of course, got halted due to the pandemic. The other two headliners from that year, Travis Scott and Rage Against The Machine, will be returning to the desert next April, with a third headliner to be revealed at a later date.

Elsewhere in the article, Tollett confirmed that Megan Thee Stallion and Doja Cat would both make an appearance in 2022.

Tollett also said over half those with tickets in 2020 requested refunds rather than rolling over to the next event. “I joked that we did too good of a job on refunds,” Tollett said.

“I understand you want your refund. You’ve got your hotel, your airfare, all your stuff. Tickets are the smallest of it all, actually.”
