Former inmate recalls NBA YoungBoy beating up man in Alabama prison

A former inmate of NBA YoungBoy has recalled the Baton Rouge rapper beating up a man behind bars.

YoungBoy served around 11 months at FCI Talladega on weapons charges before being released from prison in March 2025.

Over a year later, a man has taken to social media to claim that YoungBoy had a fight with someone in prison.

“I already knew YB was coming,” he said. “One of my old partners from Alabama, he pulled up on me and told me lie, ‘Yeah, YB ’bout to come up in here.'”

The man continued, “He was chilling, but he got into it, that’s why he went to the hole, ’cause he beat someone from Mississippi up.”

The story aligns with one told by Birdman’s brother, Terrance ‘Gangsta’ Williams, who took to Instagram Live last year to claim that YoungBoy had been put in solitary confinement for hitting a man from Mississippi.

Williams claimed he attacked the man “with a two-piece” after yelling out “OTF” after seeing the rapper, referring to Lil Durk’s crew. He went on to say that YoungBoy was “in there standing on business.”

YoungBoy was pardoned by President Donald Trump in May 2025, absolving him of his crimes after pleading guilty to possessing weapons as a felon in December 2024.

In a statement, YoungBoy said, “I want to thank President Trump for granting me a pardon and giving me the opportunity to keep building – as a man, as a father, and as an artist. This moment means a lot. It opens the door to a future I’ve worked hard for and I am fully prepared to step into this.”

The 26-year-old previously spent time in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison in 2016 after being charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder.
