Foolio murder suspect said he “needs to die” in leaked text messages
Florida rapper Foolio was shot and killed in 2024. During the first days of his murder trial last week, a suspect allegedly told her friend that he “needs to die.”
Alicia Andrews is one of five suspects charged with Foolio’s murder, facing premeditated first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder charges.
During the trial in a Hillsborough County courtroom on October 23rd, prosecutors pressed a witness over text messages received from Andrews in January 2021.
According to XXL, Andrews wrote in the messages, “Girl, I don’t like Foolio LMFAOO. Ugly-ass bitch. He need to die. Shid that was Will friend. Fuck that code. Shit bitch he shot me and my friend died??? Yea, I’m pointing out who did it.”
When asked what Andrews meant, her friend replied, “Well, she’s referring to somebody that had just died that we know. We are basically just gossiping.”
Foolio was killed in the car park of a Holiday Inn in Tampa on June 23rd, 2024. Prosecutors have alleged that Andrews and her boyfriend, Isaiah Chance, travelled from Jacksonville to Tampa and followed him around the city.
They have been accused of giving his location to three men, Sean Gathright, Rashad Murphy, and Davion Murphy, who allegedly shot the rapper.
Andrews’ attorney, Life Malcolm, denies any wrongdoing. “Perception is not reality,” he said. “Just because she was there around a group of guys who had bad stuff on their mind, doesn’t mean that she had bad stuff on her mind or was even aware that they did.”
He continued, “She was here for a trip with her boyfriend. That’s it and that’s all, and found her herself caught up in a mix of stuff that she was unaware about completely.”
Foolio released his final album, Demi God, in September 2024. His biggest single, ‘Voo Doo’, has over 82 million streams on Spotify.
