
Florida rapper POORSTACY has died aged 26
POORSTACY has passed away at the age of 26. The Florida rapper (real name Carlito Milfort) died in the early hours of November 29th.
Palm Beach County Medical Examiner confirmed his death with the Boca Raton Police Department on December 1st.
According to TMZ, a hotel worker said the rapper was taken to a local hospital for a medical emergency, and that he was the only person hospitalised.
POORSTACY allegedly checked into the hotel with a woman and child and had been staying there for 10 days.
The cause of his death is unclear, but TMZ pointed out that comments on his Instagram posts have suggested he committed suicide.
Fans took to social media to pay tribute to POORSTACY. One person wrote, “Your music kept me company battling heavy addiction in the early 2020s, sad to see you go man but thankful for your music always.”
Another said, “This one really hurts. I’ll always remember ‘Hills Have Eyes‘ as the soundtrack to my first date with my boyfriend five years ago. The most beautiful night of my life 🙁 I’ll definitely play it at our wedding someday. Rest easy man.”
POORSTACY released his final album, Party at the Cemetery, in October 2021. His debut album, The Breakfast Club, came out the year before.
With over 480,000 monthly Spotify listeners, his biggest songs included ‘Don’t Look at Me’ with 51 million streams and ‘Make Up’ with 41 million streams.
His sound combined emo rap, punk rock, and punk rap, and he collaborated with the likes of Travis Barker and Iann Dior. He also appeared on the soundtrack for Bill and Ted Face the Music in 2020 with his song ‘Darkest Night’.
