Fetty Wap reveals 50 Cent helped him financially in prison
Fetty Wap was released from prison last week and has opened up about 50 Cent helping him mentally and financially while behind bars.
The rapper, best known for his hit single ‘Trap Queen’, was freed from FCI Sandstone in Minnesota on January 8th after serving time on federal drug charges.
Following his release, Fetty sat down with The Breakfast Club for his first interview since becoming a free man.
During the conversation, he credited 50 for his support from the moment he set foot in prison.
“50 did a lot for me,” he said. “From day one, it was like, ‘Whatever you need, just holler at me.’ I’m like, ‘All right.’ Then [he] was like, ‘Where this money going?’ I’m like, ‘What?’ I ain’t used to that. I’m used to it’s always the other way around.”
He continued, “Whatever I needed, he was right there. He answered the phone. He didn’t shy off all the way down to the time I’m about to come home, ‘How you getting home?’ As far as financial and mental help, he was probably there the biggest.”
Fetty also revealed that 50 told him to “stop fucking up” and how he “should’ve never stopped making music.”
Taking to Instagram, 50 reposted the clip and wrote in the caption, “WOP HOME fresh out the FED’S ready to work. He good I got him let’s get it.”
Fetty was sentenced to six years in May 2023 after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess and distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine. However, he was released three years early.
He is currently under home confinement and will be released from oversight custody on November 8th.
