Fat Joe explains why hip-hop beefs are a bad idea

‘All The Way Up’ lyricist Fat Joe has recently spoken out about his concerns surrounding rap beef in contemporary hip-hop. The emcee has been in many feuds himself but agrees with Boosie Badazz that, nowadays, it is too violent, dangerous, and unnecessary.

In April, Baton Rouge musician Boosie Badazz took to Twitter/X to express his worry about the ongoing feud between Kendrick Lamar, Drake and Metro Boomin’. In a series of lengthy tweets, Badazz wrote, “Everybody gassing up rap beef SMH!” adding, “I’ve seen people die. Y’all happy about who gon’ win or lose, but a mama gon’ lose her son n ain’t none of y’all going to the funeral smh.”

Fat Joe has now declared he has similar sentiments, unveiling that fans shouldn’t encourage a tit-for-tat of disrespect that could end in death, writing, “You know, I’m with Lil Boosie about Hip Hop beef,” Joe said. “It’s all fun and games until somebody gets shot, and then it’s ‘Rest In Peace’ t-shirts. I’m with Boosie on that.”

The Terror Squad founder continued, “Hip-hop beefs is out of control. And so before people get hurt, let’s go back to having a good time.” Unlike many, Joe recognised that the beef could get violent.

Boosie Badazz prematurely highlighted that things looked like they could get ugly, and shortly after, news broke that a security guard outside Drake’s Toronto mansion got shot at. Since then, various individuals have attempted to enter Drake’s property illegally.

Despite there being a confirmed drive-by shooting. No arrests have been made. One of the records exchanged in this feud referenced YNW Melly, who is currently behind bars, charged with the double murder of his two friends, Chris ‘YNW Juvy’ Thomas and Anthony ‘YNW Sakchaser’ Williams.

This only further proves that parties involved in this current feud are unaware of the serious consequences that could potentially arise from rap beef. Neither Drake nor Kendrick Lamar have yet had attempts on their lives. However, due to historical evidence, Fat Joe is still worried nonetheless.
