Fat Joe blasts Irv Gotti for revealing a fling with Ashanti

Terror Squad rapper Fat Joe recently took to Instagram to share his thoughts on Murder Inc CEO Irv Gotti, after his controversial interview with the Drink Champs podcast went viral. During the inebriated interview, Gotti (real name Irving Lorenzo) extensively detailed his alleged two-decade-old fling with singer Ashanti. However, he ruffled some feathers by doing so.

Taking to Instagram, Fat Joe blasted Lorenzo. In a lengthy video, the rapper ranted, “Irv Gotti a sucker, man. He a sucker…Y’all can [at] Irv Gotti, Ja, whatever the f*ck you want…Whatever Irv has with Ashanti is 20 years old, right. I know he was making some points that mean a lot to him. But when you keep ranting about somebody 20 years later, it felt like he’s not over the young lady, right.”

If this was not enough, the Bronx rapper continued his rant with another video declaring, “It’s okay, if it’s in a documentary…You gotta see your truth in your documentary. But to go to Drink Champs and to keep calling her a bitch, keep disrespecting … Um, guys, I’m not gonna be the guy to ‘stand up for Ashanti, the brother that’ … Ja Rule was standing right next to him.”

Adding: “I’m not gonna be that guy. But I’m not telling stories about a girl I was with 20 years ago. In fact, I hope you die. F*ck you, b*tch. Leave me alone, right. So, when you doing this, it looks like you caught up, you ain’t get over the sh*t.”

The recent interview had the internet going haywire as the alleged relationship occurred while he was still married in the early 2000s. Gotti was extensive and explicit while detailing the relationship, even claiming that the idea for Ashanti‘s 2002 hit ‘Happy’ was conceived right after the pair finished having sex.

The interview with Gotti and Murder Inc star Ja Rule undoubtedly stirred up a lot of controversy, with people picking sides in the debate as to whether or not it was appropriate to detail the relationship. However, it is evident from his videos that Fat Joe most definitely did not think it was appropriate.
