Eminem shows three generations of Detroit MCs with new video

March 13th is Detroit’s 313 day. The area code represents the Michigan city, and in honour of all that the metropolis has contributed to hip-hop, the Chicago-based production company Lyrical Lemonade released a compilation album that puts all of the city’s artists at the forefront, including Eminem.

Eminem is one of the most well-known artists from Detroit and, as an emcee, helped many others put the city on the map. As such, the All Is Yellow compilation album includes songs from him, and to accompany the project, Lyrical Lemonade released a music video for ‘Doomsday Pt. 2’.

Earlier this year, Eminem released ‘Doomsday Pt. 2’ which is a diss track aimed at Benzino and his daughter, the vocalist Coi Leray. The former owner of The Source magazine and Mathers have been feuding for over two decades.

On ‘Doomsday Pt. 2′ Mathers makes fun of Benzino’s appearance as he raps, “Now I got a riddle (What?), one condition, you mustn’t laugh / What is the opposite of Benzino? / A giraffe / Go at his neck, how the f*ck is that? / How can I go at somethin’ he doesn’t have? / Arm so short he can’t even touch his hands / When they’re up above his head doin’ jumpin’ jacks.”

However, in honour of Detroit’s 313 day, Eminem decided to include three generations of Detroit talent in the song’s music video. Detroit-born rapper Big Sean provides some ad-libs in the visuals, and BabyTron also appears on-screen several times to shed light on young up-and-coming MCs from the city.

Many more Detroit representatives appear on All Is Yellow including G. Herbo, Lil Durk Baby Tron. Aside from 313 natives, the project boasts features from the likes of Denzel Curry, Teezo Touchdown, JID, Swae Lee, and Cordae.

All Is Yellow is the first-ever compilation album compiled by music video director Cole Bennet and was released through Def Jam. You can watch the ‘Doomsday Pt. 2’ music video below.
