Eminem is the latest artist to have a single surpass one billion streams

Eminem is a record-breaker again as his unique rap-comedy single ‘Without Me’ is the latest single to join Spotify’s prestigious Billion club. The track has surpassed the landmark total number of streams to add yet more kudos to Eminem’s career.

The news comes only weeks after The Slim Shady LP clocked up over one billion streams on Spotify, and, by doing so, gave the rapper eleven different albums with the accolade — a record.

The Slim Shady LP joined the likes of 2010 album Recovery, 2018 album Kamikaze, 2020’s Music to be Murdered By and, of course, 2000’s The Marshall Mathers LP. It’s a reminder that despite Em’s work often being labelled as “unlistenable”, plenty of people are doing just that. With over eleven billion streams through Spotify alone, Eminem’s work is still clearly finding a willing audience.

While an album to have a collective number of streams surpassing one billion is impressive, to have eleven different albums achieve the same feat, even more so. However, to get a song to reach that landmark figure is truly impressive.

“‘Could start a revolution, polluting the airwaves,’” Eminem wrote in the caption celebrating the accolade. “#WithoutMe now in the @spotify #BillionsClub.”

The track becomes the second song from Eminem’s mammoth LP The Eminem Show to surpass the number after Em’s collaboration with Nate Dogg, ‘Til I Collapse’ also achieved the feat in 2021, following Nate Dogg’s passing in 2012.

One billion seems to be a good marker for Em as he also became the first hip hop artist to surpass one billion streams on YouTube back in 2011, with his collaboration with 50 Cent, ‘In Da Club’ also surpassing the number.
