Eminem breaks record after charting for 500 weeks in the UK

Eminem has become a record-breaker after his greatest hits album, Curtain Call, has spent its 500th week in the UK chart.

Shady has become the first hip-hop artist to ever achieve this feat, and he joys an acclaimed list alongside the likes of Fleetwood Mac, and Pink Floyd, who have also reached the 500-week landmark.

The compilation was originally released in December 2005, and astonishingly, hasn’t left the charts ever since. For most of the time, Curtain Call has lingered around the Top 50. Additionally, in the States, the album also broke records as the longest-charting rap LP on the Billboard 200 back in 2017.

Meanwhile, Marshall Mathers was part of an ensemble cast along with Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Mary J. Blige, who teamed up to put on an unforgettable halftime show at the Super Bowl.

For the penultimate track, Eminem joined Dre, as well as Anderson .Paak and The Free Nationals to deliver a stirring rendition of ‘Lose Yourself’. He is also rumoured to have given up one song to allow 50 Cent to make a surprise appearance.

Shady also powerfully took the knee in a poignant nod to Colin Kaepernick despite rumours that the NFL had banned artists making the gesture.
