Eminem wins big at 2025 American Music Awards

The American Music Awards took place on May 26th and saw Eminem walk away with wins in some of the biggest categories. The 2025 ceremony was held at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas in Winchester, Nevada, with Jennifer Lopez on hosting duties.

Eminem won ‘Favourite Male Hip-Hop Artist’ this year, while also picking up the award for ‘Favourite Hip-Hop Album’ for The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), which was released in July.

During a video speech, Em said, “Favourite Male Hip-Hop Artist. Thank you. I appreciate it. I think it has been 23 years since I won my first AMA. Thank you to the fans. Thank you to everybody that voted for me.”

Elsewhere, Megan Thee Stallion won ‘Favourite Female Hip-Hop Artist’, with Kendrick Lamar securing ‘Favourite Hip-Hop Song’ for his Drake diss track, ‘Not Like Us‘.

SZA also enjoyed a successful evening, winning ‘Favourite Female R&B Artist’ and ‘Favourite R&B Song’ for ‘Saturn’, which appeared on her SOS Deluxe: LANA album. “OK, first off, thank you to all the fans that voted for me,” she said on stage. “Mom, do I have makeup on my teeth? OK. Thank you to my mom and to my dad, to my best friend Amber, to my team. But literally, to all of camp, I love you so much.”

The Weeknd picked up ‘Favourite Male R&B Artist’ and ‘Favourite R&B Album’ for Hurry Up Tomorrow. Rising star Doechii won ‘Social Song of the Year’ for ‘Anxiety’, which famously samples Gotye’s 2011 hit, ‘Somebody That I Used to Know’.
