
EBK Jaaybo facing over 30 years in prison on gun and drug charges
California rapper EBK Jaaybo, who was recently announced as a support act on NBA YoungBoy‘s upcoming tour, could face over 30 years in prison. Arkansas State Police arrested the rapper on May 18th during a traffic stop and discovered a Glock pistol with a Glock switch, which turns the firearm into a machine gun.
The 21-year-old (real name Aareon Jaymani Gorman) was charged with possession of marijuana with purpose to deliver, criminal use of a prohibited weapon, theft by receiving and narcotics possession. According to He was arraigned on June 26th at the Richard Sheppard Arnold US District Courthouse in Little Rock.
The Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that when Jaaybo was stopped as a passenger on Interstate 40, police found marijuana, unidentified pills, $8,379 in cash and a gun that was reported stolen from California.
If convicted on both the marijuana count and the possession of a machine gun in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime count, Judge Jo Volpe said he would “be exposed to not less than 30 years in prison, and that would have to be imposed consecutively.”
Overall, he faces up to five years for a marijuana count, 15 years on a felon in possession count, five years on a firearm transportation count, and ten years on a possession of a stolen firearm count.
EBK Jaaybo has over 580,000 Instagram followers and is best known for his 2024 song ‘Boogieman’, which boasts 122 million Spotify streams. He was set to join YoungBoy on his Make America Slime Again Tour, which starts in September.
During an interview with Rolling Stone last month, the rapper spoke about life behind bars and revealed his appreciation for the small things as a free man.
“To enjoy freedom. Being able to do the little shit, to open doors, n*gga, and throw clothes on,” he said. “I done did a lot of jail time, so it’s like, over the years I learned how to enjoy the little shit, and learned that money don’t mean anything.
“I enjoy the little shit in life. Because once that shit get revoked from you, you ain’t going to care about the money, you going to be caring about the little shit like just seeing the trees and. In jail, you can’t do shit like that. Sometimes you don’t see the stars.”
