Drake’s six-year-old son releases a new single

Drake’s six-year-old son Adonis has released a new single with an accompanying music video on the OVO YouTube channel. Produced by Lil E$$o, the song is an extended version of Adonis’ brief verse on ‘Daylight.’ A track from the Canadian’s latest project, For All The Dogs.

The world was first made aware of Drake’s son by Pusha T, who highlighted his existence on his Drake diss track ‘The Story Adidon.’ Ever since, the rapper (real name Aubrey Graham) has been very open about his family and has showcased his relationship with his son, Adonis.

To preview the track, Drake took to Instagram to share a trailer for the music video. Entitled ‘My Man Freestyle’, the video sees the six-year-old provide a pep talk to a group of older basketball players as he proclaims, “We just have to work harder,” Adonis says to his applauding teammates, “We have to play better.”

Graham makes an appearance towards the end of the music video and features in a post-game press conference scene alongside his son. Last month, Drake revealed that the drawing of a red-eyed dog on the cover of For All The Dogs was designed by Adonis.

Adonis also features on Graham’s track ‘8AM in Charlotte’ where the child performs a pre-song cameo. Drake first shared photos of his son in 2020 on Instagram, captioning the post “beautiful family.” Adonis has appeared alongside his father more regularly and even joined his father on stage at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards.

At his LA show earlier this year, Drake told the crowd, “I can’t talk about titties tonight in LA because my son is at the show for the first time ever,” Drake said during the show as part of his ‘It’s All A Blur’ tour with 21 Savage. “We’ve got to keep this real PG tonight.”

This is the first time we have seen Drake allow his son to release music. Many have speculated that it is a ploy to increase interest in him and boost sales of his latest album For All The Dogs. You can see Adonis’ music video below.
