Drake teases collaboration with Nicki Minaj

Toronto rapper and singer Drake is currently on his ‘It’s All A Blur’ tour with 21 Savage, has announced that he will be releasing a track alongside his Young Money counterpart Nicki Minaj. The Scorpion emcee will be releasing a project this year entitled, For All The Dogs, which will mark his eighth full-length studio album.

The ‘It’s All A Blur’ tour has seen the musician (real name Aubrey Graham) travel across North America alongside 21 Savage and will be wrapping up his in Columbus, Ohio in October.

During a recent Detroit performance, Graham happily announced to the crowd that he and Minaj (real name Onika Maraj) had been in the studio together and will be dropping an exclusive single in the near future.

Expressing how much he had missed working with Minaj as part of Young Money, Graham told the crowd, “I’m gonna give away one thing for you tonight because I got a lot of love for Detroit. So I’m gonna have to tell you that me and Nicki Minaj did our first song together in, like, a really long time. I got a lot of love for her.”

Despite their longtime friendship, the two artists have only collaborated three times. In 2010, Drake was featured on Minaj’s Pink Friday single, ‘Moment 4 Life.’ Then Minaj returned the favour by appearing on ‘Up All Night’ from Drake’s debut album, Thank Me Later.

The ‘Super Bass’ rapper also rapper also helped Drake on ‘Make Me Proud.’ However, these are the only three tracks featuring just the two MCs. Although in 2017, Drake provided a guest verse on Nicki’s single ‘No Frauds’ alongside their Young Money mentor Lil Wayne.

Drake announced a fresh project last month and unveiled that it will be accompanied by a poetry book called Titles Ruin Everything: A Stream of Consciousness. The Canadian artist took to Instagram to make the announcement, writing, “I made an album to go with the book. They say they miss the old Drake girl don’t tempt me. FOR ALL THE DOGS.”
