Drake refuses to forgive J Cole over Kendrick Lamar apology

Drake has revealed he won’t forgive J Cole for backing down in his beef with Kendrick Lamar.

Cole famously ended his beef with K. Dot in 2024 after releasing ‘7 Minute Drill’ and then apologising.

In Drake’s new song called ‘Make Them Pay’, taken from his Iceman album, he addresses Cole’s actions.

He raps, “Me, I stood ten T’s and accepted the mission/ ‘Cause I’d much rather death than submission/ How can you press the ignition and let some memories of the past affect your decision?”

Drake acknowledges their past relationship, but claims it’s not enough to let it go. “I love you ’cause of the history, but if we bein’ real, I could never forgive you/ And you never called me back, but destiny’s written, for real,” he spits.

The Toronto rapper goes on to speak on the “big three” as a whole, which Kendrick rejected in his ‘Like That’ verse.

Drizzy raps, “Fuck a big three anyway, there was too many chefs in the kitchen, it was a mess to begin with, yeah/ And now they got a new GOAT and we gotta test the position.”

Cole removed ‘7 Minute Drill’ from his Might Delete Later mixtape and apologised to Kendrick at Dreamville Festival in 2024.

“I just wanna come up here and publicly be like, bruh, that was the lamest, goofiest shit,” he said. “And I say all that to say, it made me feel like 10 years ago when I was moving incorrectly, and I pray that god will line me back up on my purpose and my path. I pray that my n*gga didn’t feel no way.”

He continued, “And if he did, my n*gga, I got my chin out, take your best shot, I’ma take that shit on the chin, boy. Do what you do. All good. It’s love. And I pray that y’all will like, forgive a n*gga for the misstep and I can get back to my true path, ’cause I ain’t gonna lie to y’all, the past two days felt terrible.”
