Drake narrowly avoids saying “f*ck Kendrick” during live stream
Drake joined popular online streamer Adin Ross for a Christmas giveaway but almost got into trouble regarding his beef with Kendrick Lamar. During part of the broadcast, Drizzy read out a fan email from someone trying to get free tickets for his Australian tour, which is set to take place in February 2025.
“In the beautiful land Down Under, it would be an unforgettable honeymoon filled with laughter, fun and, of course, the Drake charisma. And it’s always fuck Ken–,” the Toronto rapper read, cutting himself off before saying, “Oh, I am not reading that.”
After almost saying “fuck Kendrick,” Ross was shocked about what he just witnessed and added, “I loved every single word of that.” The tour in question is set to begin on the same day as Kendrick’s Super Bowl LIX halftime show, with many claiming that Drake is getting out of the country altogether to avoid any heat over a performance of ‘Not Like Us’ or any other diss tracks.
During the stream, Drake also joked about one of the lines Kendrick threw at him on ‘Euphoria’ while praising Sexyy Red. “When I see her, I see two bad ones, n*gga. What’s up? Fuck what y’all talmbout,” he said, referencing the line, “When I see you stand by Sexyy Red, I believe you see two bad bitches.”
The ‘One Dance’ artist has been fairly quiet in late 2024 following the release of Kendrick’s GNX album in November. However, on another live stream, he said, “I’m here — mind, body and soul fully intact, in case you were wondering. You need facts to take me out; fairytales won’t do it.”
Drake and Kendrick’s beef started in March this year. Drizzy dropped the diss tracks ‘Push Ups’, ‘Taylor Made Freestyle’, ‘Family Matters’, ‘Buried Alive Interlude, Pt. 2’ and ‘The Heart Part 6’, while Kendrick hit him with ‘Like That’, ‘Euphoria’, ‘6:16 in LA’, ‘Meet the Grahams’, ‘Not Like Us’, and ‘Watch the Party Die’.
In November, Drake took legal action against Universal Music Group and Spotify by accusing them of illegally boosting streams for ‘Not Like Us’. The filing by Drizzy’s Frozen Moments company claimed that bots, undisclosed payments and biased recommendations were used in the alleged practice.
