Drake announces release date for new album ‘Iceman’
Drake has announced the release date for his new album.
The Toronto rapper has been teasing Iceman for a while, but now a date has finally been set for his upcoming project.
This week, Drizzy launched a giant ice sculpture in a Toronto car park and said that the release date would be revealed once the ice had melted.
Fans made their way to the sculpture and used pickaxes to break into the ice, which led Twitch streamer Kishka to discover a release date of May 15th.
Following the discovery, Drake took to Instagram to confirm the title and release date by sharing an image with red and blue text.
Drake first teased Iceman during a performance in Perth, Australia, as part of his Anita Max Win Tour last year. “When the time is right, I’ll be back with another album – a one-on-one conversation with y’all that you need to hear,” he said on stage.
Various singles have been released in the lead-up to the album, including ‘What Did I Miss?’, ‘Which One‘, ‘Somebody Loves Me Pt 2’, and ‘Dog House’, but it’s unclear whether any will appear on the project.
Drake released his last album, For All the Dogs, in October 2023. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart with 402,000 units in its first week. The project included features from 21 Savage, J Cole, Yeat, SZA, Chief Keef, Lil Yachty, Sexyy Red, and others.
Although his last solo effort came three years ago, Drake released a collaborative album with PARTYNEXTDOOR in 2025. Some Sexy Songs 4 U also reached number one on the Billboard 200 with 246,000 units in its first week.
