Drake hits huge Spotify milestone as streams rocket

Drake is one of the most successful hip-hop artists of all time. From Grammy’s to Billboard Awards and more, he is one of the most decorated MCs of all time. That said, he has now reached another milestone as he, yet again, breaks a Spotify streaming record.

In 2022, the Toronto native surpassed The Beatles and Taylor Swift as the musician with the most top five singles of all time. In his career thus far, he has managed to accumulate 31 top-five releases. Delving even deeper into the figures, 11 of the 31 top-five releases reached number one.

He now has even more number-one singles. However, the milestone he has recently reached concerns streaming as he becomes the first act of all time to accrue over 100 billion streams on Spotify.

Over the last two months, during his beef with Kendrick Lamar, Drake had an average listenership of 78,140,542 monthly listeners per month. However, his figures are not too dissimilar to this when he is not feuding.

Recent tracks such as ‘Family Matters’ and ‘The Heart Part 6’ have seen his numbers skyrocket in recent months. Furthermore, his recent collaboration with Sexyy Red and the single ‘U My Everything’ has contributed to a surge in his streams.

When Drizzy shared the recent achievement on Twitter/X, his fans mocked Kendrick Lamar and saw this as vindication. One user wrote, “Lmao [laughing emoji] man diss Spotify for now giving artist what they deserved, still couldn’t stop him from getting a billi [fire emojis] haters going hate.”

In response to the above post, another added, “Drake gave a career to Kanye and Kendrick, metro and future and is too much above the Rap Game, and it will never change until he retires, even these worst sounds are better than some of your favourite rappers here he just the goat I don’t even need to justify myself anymore.”

Only recently, DJ Akademiks smeared Lamar and invited a guest onto his show who suggested that the Compton native inflates his streaming numbers. However, as Drake moves forward seemingly unscathed, Akademiks recently revealed that Drake has more new music on the way for summer.
