Drake disses Grammys following Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ sweep
Drake has taken shots at the Grammys after Kendrick Lamar won big at the ceremony earlier this month. K. Dot’s ‘Not Like Us’, which dissed Drizzy, picked up five awards on the night, including ‘Song of the Year,’ ‘Record of the Year,’ ‘Best Rap Song,’ ‘Best Music Video’ and ‘Best Rap Performance.’
Canadian artist Preme took to his Instagram Stories this week to share a conversation with Drake. While appearing to support Drizzy, the 6 God responded by expressing a lack of respect for his past Grammy wins. “I love you brother,” he said in the screenshot. “I keep Grammys on the floor in the ladies bathroom in my bedroom. Yes my bathroom has a ladies bathroom.”
The Toronto rapper has won five Grammys in his career – the same amount Kendrick won for ‘Not Like Us’ at the 2025 awards. He previously picked up wins for ‘Best Rap Album’ with Take Care, ‘Best Rap Song’ and ‘Best Rap/Sung Performance’ for ‘Hotline Bling’, ‘Best Rap Song’ for ‘God’s Plan’, and ‘Best Melodic Rap Performance’ for ‘Wait for U’ with Future and Tems.
Drake is no stranger to shading the Grammy Awards. After losing in all four categories in 2024, he posted a message for fellow rappers. “All you incredible artists remember this show isn’t the facts — it’s just the opinion of a group of people whose names are kept a secret. Literally. You can Google it,” he wrote on social media. “Congrats to anybody winning anything for hip-hop, but this show doesn’t dictate shit in our world.”
Not only that, but he also shared a clip of his acceptance speech in 2019. “We play in an opinion-based sport, not a factual-based sport,” he said on stage. “It is not the NBA … This is a business where sometimes it is up to a bunch of people that might not understand what a mixed race kid from Canada has to say … or a brother from Houston right there, my brother Travis [Scott].”
He continued, “You’ve already won if you have people who are singing your songs word for word, if you are a hero in your hometown. If there is people who have regular jobs who are coming out in the rain, in the snow, spending their hard-earned money to buy tickets to come to your shows, you don’t need this right here. I promise you, you already won.”
Drake even boycotted the Grammys in 2022, withdrawing Certified Lover Boy from ‘Best Rap Album’ and ‘Way 2 Sexy’ from ‘Best Rap Performance.’
